I am saying this for your benefit, not to place a limitation on you, but so that without distraction you may give notable and constant service to the Lord.

Then God took note of ¹  Rachel. He paid attention to her and enabled her to become pregnant. ² 

But Moses said before the Lord, “Since I speak with difficulty, ¹  why should Pharaoh listen to me?”

But he added, “You cannot see my face, for no one can ¹  see me and live.” ² 

But how can I alone bear up under the burden of your hardship and strife?

“Truly, ¹  I know that this is so. But how ²  can a human ³  be just before ⁴  God? ⁵ 

If someone wishes ¹  to contend ²  with him, he cannot answer ³  him one time in a thousand.

What is man that he should be pure, or one born of woman, that he should be righteous?

“Is it to God that a strong man is of benefit? Is it to him that even a wise man is profitable? ¹ 

How then can a human being be righteous before God? How can one born of a woman be pure? ¹ 

But it is a spirit in people, the breath ¹  of the Almighty, that makes them understand.

Do you really think ¹  that one who hates justice can govern? ²  And will you declare guilty the supremely righteous ³  One,

(40:25) ¹  “Can you pull in ²  Leviathan with a hook, and tie down ³  its tongue with a rope?

They were unfaithful ¹  and acted as treacherously as ²  their ancestors; they were as unreliable as a malfunctioning bow. ³ 

A lion has roared! ¹  Who is not afraid? The sovereign Lord has spoken! Who can refuse to prophesy? ² 

A good tree is not able to bear bad fruit, nor a bad tree to bear good fruit.

So ¹  he called them and spoke to them in parables: ²  “How can Satan cast out Satan?

He said to them, “Don’t you understand this parable? Then ¹  how will you understand any parable?

His disciples answered him, “Where can someone get enough bread in this desolate place to satisfy these people?”

Nathanael ¹  replied, ²  “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” ³  Philip replied, ⁴  “Come and see.”
