But Saul said, “No one will be killed on this day. For today the Lord has given Israel a victory!”

The king responded, “Give the first woman the living child; don’t kill him. She is the mother.”

Solomon left all these items unweighed; there were so many of them they did not weigh the bronze. ¹ 

The Lord sent prophets among them to lead them back to him. ¹  They warned ²  the people, but they would not pay attention.

He plans ways to sin while he lies in bed; he is committed to a sinful lifestyle; ¹  he does not reject what is evil. ² 

Who really knows if the human spirit ¹  ascends upward, and the animal’s spirit descends into the earth?

For the fortified city ¹  is left alone; it is a deserted settlement and abandoned like the desert. Calves ²  graze there; they lie down there and eat its branches bare. ³ 

Set up a gravestone for Moab, for it will certainly be laid in ruins! ¹  Its cities will be laid waste and become uninhabited.”

Your warriors will be shattered, O Teman, ¹  so that ²  everyone ³  will be destroyed ⁴  from Esau’s mountain!
