For John had repeatedly told ¹  Herod, “It is not lawful for you to have your brother’s wife.” ² 

They also had a few small fish. After giving thanks for these, he told them to serve these as well.

Those ¹  who had seen it told them how the man who had been demon-possessed had been healed. ² 

But when Jesus heard this, he told ¹  him, “Do not be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed.” ² 

Her ¹  spirit returned, ²  and she got up immediately. Then ³  he told them to give her something to eat.

He then ¹  told them a parable: ²  “The land of a certain rich man produced ³  an abundant crop,

Then ¹  Jesus ²  told them a parable to show them they should always ³  pray and not lose heart. ⁴ 

Jesus ¹  also told this parable to some who were confident that they were righteous and looked down ²  on everyone else.

So ¹  they went and found things ²  just as he had told them, ³  and they prepared the Passover.

He is not here, but has been raised! ¹  Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee, ² 

and when they returned from the tomb they told all these things to the eleven ¹  and to all the rest.

Then they told what had happened on the road, ¹  and how they recognized him ²  when he broke the bread.

He first ¹  found his own brother Simon and told him, “We have found the Messiah!” ²  (which is translated Christ). ³ 

Jesus told the servants, ¹  “Fill the water jars with water.” So they filled them up to the very top.

Then he told them, “Now draw some out and take it to the head steward,” ¹  and they did.

So they said to him, “Who are you?” Jesus replied, ¹  “What I have told you from the beginning.

I have told you these things ¹  so that my joy may be in you, and your joy may be complete.

Jesus replied, ¹  “I told you that I am he. If you are looking for ²  me, let these men ³  go.” ⁴ 

Jesus replied, ¹  “Are you saying this on your own initiative, ²  or have others told you about me?”

Then they understood that he had not told them to be on guard against the yeast in bread, but against the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
