When David was close to death, ¹  he told ²  Solomon his son:

When Solomon was told that Shimei had gone from Jerusalem to Gath and had then returned,

He told his sons, “Saddle my donkey,” and they did so. ¹ 

Drink from the stream; I have already told ¹  the ravens to bring you food ²  there.”

Naaman ¹  went and told his master what the girl from the land of Israel had said.

Elisha told him, “Take a bow and some arrows,” and he did so. ¹ 

Isaiah was still in the middle courtyard when the Lord told him, ¹ 

Nathan told David all these words that were revealed to him. ¹ 

What we have heard and learned ¹  – that which our ancestors ²  have told us –

I told you about my ways ¹  and you answered me. Teach me your statutes!

The prophet Jeremiah told all this to King Zedekiah of Judah in Jerusalem.

The Lord gave the prophet Jeremiah a message for them. He told him to tell them, ¹ 

So I told the exiles everything ¹  the Lord had shown me.

She cried on his shoulder ¹  until the party was almost over. ²  Finally, on the seventh day, he told her because she had nagged him so much. ³  Then she told the young men the solution to the riddle. ⁴ 

Jeroboam told his wife, “Disguise ¹  yourself so that people cannot recognize you are Jeroboam’s wife. Then go to Shiloh; Ahijah the prophet, who told me I would rule over this nation, lives there. ² 

Ham, the father of Canaan, ¹  saw his father’s nakedness ²  and told his two brothers who were outside.

Early in the morning ¹  Abimelech summoned ²  all his servants. When he told them about all these things, ³  they ⁴  were terrified.

Joseph ¹  had a dream, ²  and when he told his brothers about it, ³  they hated him even more. ⁴ 

Tamar was told, ¹  “Look, your father-in-law is going up ²  to Timnah to shear his sheep.”

So the chief cupbearer told his dream to Joseph: ¹  “In my dream, there was a vine in front of me.
