“Or what woman, if she has ten silver coins ¹  and loses ²  one of them, ³  does not light a lamp, sweep ⁴  the house, and search thoroughly until she finds it?

When a woman gives birth, she has distress ¹  because her time ²  has come, but when her child is born, she no longer remembers the suffering because of her joy that a human being ³  has been born into the world. ⁴ 

so that you may welcome her in the Lord in a way worthy of the saints and provide her with whatever help she may need from you, for she has been a great help to many, including me.

A wife is bound as long as her husband is living. But if her husband dies, ¹  she is free to marry anyone she wishes (only someone in the Lord).

For if a woman will not cover her head, she should cut off her hair. But if it is disgraceful for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, she should cover her head.

As much as ¹  she exalted herself and lived in sensual luxury, ²  to this extent give her torment and grief because she said to herself, ³  ‘I rule as queen and am no widow; I will never experience grief!’

For this reason, she will experience her plagues ¹  in a single day: disease, ²  mourning, ³  and famine, and she will be burned down ⁴  with fire, because the Lord God who judges her is powerful!”

but did not have marital relations ¹  with her until she gave birth to a son, whom he named ²  Jesus.

He touched her hand, and the fever left her. Then ¹  she got up and began to serve them.

Instructed by her mother, she said, “Give me the head of John the Baptist here on a platter.”

His ¹  head was brought on a platter and given to the girl, and she brought it to her mother.

“Yes, Lord,” she replied, ¹  “but even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters’ table.”

In the resurrection, therefore, whose wife of the seven will she be? For they all had married her.” ¹ 

The woman was a Greek, of Syrophoenician origin. She ¹  asked him to cast the demon out of her daughter.

She answered, “Yes, Lord, but even the dogs under the table eat the children’s crumbs.”

In the resurrection, when they rise again, ¹  whose wife will she be? For all seven had married her.” ² 

But Jesus said, “Leave her alone. Why are you bothering her? She has done a good service for me.

When the slave girl saw him, she began again to say to the bystanders, “This man is one of them.”

But ¹  she was greatly troubled ²  by his words and began to wonder about the meaning of this greeting. ³ 

She ¹  exclaimed with a loud voice, ²  “Blessed are you among women, ³  and blessed is the child ⁴  in your womb!
