And he added, ¹  “I tell you the truth, ²  no prophet is acceptable ³  in his hometown.

The woman said to him, “Sir, I see ¹  that you are a prophet.

(For Jesus himself had testified that a prophet has no honor in his own country.) ¹ 

But this is what was spoken about through the prophet Joel: ¹ 

and was returning home, sitting ¹  in his chariot, reading ²  the prophet Isaiah.

“But if any prophet presumes to speak anything in my name that I have not authorized ¹  him to speak, or speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet must die.

All Israel from Dan to Beer Sheba realized that Samuel was confirmed as a prophet of the Lord.

and sent word through Nathan the prophet that he should be named Jedidiah ¹  for the Lord’s sake.

When David got up the next morning, the Lord had already spoken ¹  to Gad the prophet, David’s seer:

King David said, “Summon Zadok the priest, Nathan the prophet, ¹  and Benaiah son of Jehoiada.” They came before the king,

All Israel buried him and mourned for him, just as the Lord had predicted ¹  through his servant the prophet Ahijah.

Zimri destroyed Baasha’s entire family, just as the Lord had predicted to Baasha ¹  through Jehu the prophet.

She asked Elijah, “Why, prophet, have you come ¹  to me to confront me with ²  my sin and kill my son?”
