So he said, “These are the two anointed ones ¹  who stand by the Lord of the whole earth.”

Then he cried out to me, “Look! The ones going to the northland have brought me ¹  peace about the northland.” ² 

If he takes another wife, ¹  he must not diminish the first one’s food, ²  her clothing, or her marital rights. ³ 

These are the ones that are unclean to you among all the swarming things. Anyone who touches them when they die will be unclean until evening.

These were the ones chosen ¹  from the community, leaders ²  of their ancestral tribes. ³  They were the heads of the thousands ⁴  of Israel.

But I will bring in your little ones, whom you said would become victims of war, ¹  and they will enjoy ²  the land that you have despised.

The Israelites took the women of Midian captives along with their little ones, and took all their herds, all their flocks, and all their goods as plunder.

These are the ones whom the Lord commanded to divide up the inheritance among the Israelites in the land of Canaan.

Surely he loves the people; ¹  all your holy ones ²  are in your power. ³  And they sit ⁴  at your feet, each receiving ⁵  your words.

Then the people said to Samuel, “Who were the ones asking, ‘Will Saul reign over us?’ Hand over those men so we may execute them!”

These are the ones who served along with their sons: From the Kohathites: Heman the musician, son of Joel, son of Samuel,

from the descendants of Adonikam there were the latter ones. ¹  Their names were Eliphelet, Jeuel, and Shemaiah, and with them 60 men;

The law of the Lord is perfect and preserves one’s life. ¹  The rules set down by the Lord ²  are reliable ³  and impart wisdom to the inexperienced. ⁴ 

You godly ones, shout for joy because of the Lord! It is appropriate for the morally upright to offer him praise.

Wicked men ¹  will be wiped out, ²  but those who rely on the Lord are the ones who will possess the land. ³ 

so I may see the prosperity ¹  of your chosen ones, rejoice along with your nation, ²  and boast along with the people who belong to you. ³ 

For this reason ¹  the sovereign master, the Lord who commands armies, will make his healthy ones emaciated. ²  His majestic glory will go up in smoke. ³ 

I have given orders to my chosen soldiers; ¹  I have summoned the warriors through whom I will vent my anger, ²  my boasting, arrogant ones. ³ 

Grain is crushed, though one certainly does not thresh it forever. The wheel of one’s wagon rolls over it, but his horses do not crush it.

In a year’s time ¹  you carefree ones will shake with fear, for the grape ²  harvest will fail, and the fruit harvest will not arrive.
