As for your birth, on the day you were born your umbilical cord was not cut, nor were you washed in water; ¹  you were certainly not rubbed down with salt, nor wrapped with blankets. ² 

Hear the word of the Lord, you Israelites! ¹  For the Lord has a covenant lawsuit ²  against the people of Israel. ³  For there is neither faithfulness nor loyalty in the land, nor do they acknowledge God. ⁴ 

“You must not wrong ¹  a foreigner ²  nor oppress him, for you were foreigners in the land of Egypt.

There you will worship gods made by human hands – wood and stone that can neither see, hear, eat, nor smell.

Then they must proclaim, “Our hands have not spilled this blood, nor have we ¹  witnessed the crime. ² 

“This commandment I am giving ¹  you today is not too difficult for you, nor is it too remote.

Moses was 120 years old when he died, but his eye was not dull ¹  nor had his vitality ²  departed.

That day ¹  – let it be darkness; ²  let not God on high regard ³  it, nor let light shine ⁴  on it!

For evil does not come up from the dust, ¹  nor does trouble spring up from the ground,

He returns no more to his house, nor does his place of residence ¹  know him ²  any more.

“Surely, God does not reject a blameless man, ¹  nor does he grasp the hand ²  of the evildoers.

He will not grow rich, and his wealth will not endure, nor will his possessions ¹  spread over the land.

“O earth, do not cover my blood, ¹  nor let there be a secret ²  place for my cry.

He has neither children nor descendants ¹  among his people, no survivor in those places he once stayed. ² 

Fine gold cannot be given in exchange for it, nor can its price be weighed out in silver.

Whoever strikes it with a sword ¹  will have no effect, ²  nor with the spear, arrow, or dart.

For this reason ¹  the wicked cannot withstand ²  judgment, ³  nor can sinners join the assembly of the godly. ⁴ 

They ¹  neither know nor understand. They stumble ²  around in the dark, while all the foundations of the earth crumble. ³ 

The dead do not praise the Lord, nor do any of those who descend into the silence of death. ¹ 

It is not good ¹  to eat too much honey, nor is it honorable for people to seek their own glory. ²
