So it is with the one who stores up riches for himself, ¹  but is not rich toward God.”

Therefore he said, “A nobleman ¹  went to a distant country to receive ²  for himself a kingdom and then return. ³ 

For David himself says in the book of Psalms, ‘The Lord said to my ¹  lord, “Sit at my right hand,

While they were saying these things, Jesus ¹  himself stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.” ² 

Then they picked up ¹  stones to throw at him, ²  but Jesus hid himself and went out from the temple area. ³ 

he got up from the meal, removed ¹  his outer clothes, ²  took a towel and tied it around himself. ³ 

If God is glorified in him, ¹  God will also glorify him in himself, and he will glorify him right away. ² 

For the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God. ¹ 

Then the eunuch said ¹  to Philip, “Please tell me, ²  who is the prophet saying this about – himself or someone else?” ³ 

Simeon ¹  has explained ²  how God first concerned himself ³  to select ⁴  from among the Gentiles ⁵  a people for his name.

Then Festus ¹  replied that Paul was being kept at Caesarea, ²  and he himself intended to go there ³  shortly.

When we entered Rome, Paul was allowed to live ¹  by himself, with the soldier who was guarding him.

So even David himself speaks regarding the blessedness of the man to whom God credits righteousness apart from works:

A person should examine himself first, ¹  and in this way ²  let him eat the bread and drink of the cup.

For the one who eats and drinks without careful regard ¹  for the body eats and drinks judgment against himself.

The one who speaks in a tongue builds himself up, ¹  but the one who prophesies builds up the church.

For it is not the person who commends himself who is approved, but the person the Lord commends.

because you have been built ¹  on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, ²  with Christ Jesus himself as ³  the cornerstone. ⁴ 

who gave himself as a ransom for all, revealing God’s purpose at his appointed time. ¹ 

For since he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are tempted.
