to the one who gives food to all living things, ¹  for his loyal love endures.

Everything looks to you in anticipation, ¹  and you provide them with food on a regular basis. ² 

You open your hand, and fill every living thing with the food they desire. ¹ 

vindicates the oppressed, ¹  and gives food to the hungry. The Lord releases the imprisoned.

He gives food to the animals, and to the young ravens when they chirp. ¹ 

“Come, eat ¹  some of my food, and drink some of the wine I have mixed. ² 

“Stolen waters ¹  are sweet, and food obtained in secret ²  is pleasant!”

A generous person ¹  will be blessed, ²  for he gives some of his food ³  to the poor.

Do not crave that ruler’s ¹  delicacies, for ²  that food is deceptive. ³ 

Do not eat the food of a stingy person, ¹  do not crave his delicacies;

A poor person ¹  who oppresses the weak is like ²  a driving rain without food. ³ 

under a servant ¹  who becomes king, under a fool who is stuffed with food, ² 

ants are creatures with little strength, but they prepare ¹  their food in the summer;

She is like ¹  the merchant ships; ²  she brings her food from afar.

We have submitted ¹  to Egypt and Assyria in order to buy food to eat. ² 

At the risk ¹  of our lives ²  we get our food ³  because robbers lurk ⁴  in the countryside. ⁵ 

They were scattered because they had no shepherd, and they became food for every wild beast. ¹ 

They should gather all the excess food ¹  during these good years that are coming. By Pharaoh’s authority ²  they should store up grain so the cities will have food, ³  and they should preserve it. ⁴ 

Joseph ¹  collected all the excess food ²  in the land of Egypt during the seven years and stored it in the cities. ³  In every city he put the food gathered from the fields around it.

“But surely I gave ¹  you no food to eat in any of your cities; you lacked food everywhere you live. ²  Still you did not come back to me.” The Lord is speaking!
