For since the creation of the world his invisible attributes – his eternal power and divine nature – have been clearly seen, because they are understood through what has been made. So people ¹  are without excuse.

Have you been thinking all this time ¹  that we have been defending ourselves to you? We are speaking in Christ before God, and everything we do, dear friends, is to build you up. ² 

For it would have been better for them never to have known the way of righteousness than, having known it, to turn back from the holy commandment that had been delivered to them.

Everyone who has been fathered ¹  by God does not practice sin, ²  because ³  God’s ⁴  seed ⁵  resides in him, and thus ⁶  he is not able to sin, because he has been fathered by God.

He ¹  said to them, “Not everyone can accept this statement, except those to whom it has been given.

He sent his slaves ¹  to summon those who had been invited to the banquet, but they would not come.

Then he said to his slaves, ‘The wedding is ready, but the ones who had been invited were not worthy.

Then Jesus came up and said to them, ¹  “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.

Jesus ¹  asked his father, “How long has this been happening to him?” And he said, “From childhood.

They had been asking each other, “Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance to the tomb?”

But ¹  when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled back.

And when they heard that he was alive and had been seen by her, they did not believe.

Now ¹  many have undertaken to compile an account ²  of the things ³  that have been fulfilled ⁴  among us,

Then ¹  he began to tell them, “Today ²  this scripture has been fulfilled even as you heard it being read.” ³ 

Immediately ¹  he stood up before them, picked ²  up the stretcher ³  he had been lying on, and went home, glorifying ⁴  God.

If then you haven’t been trustworthy ¹  in handling worldly wealth, ²  who will entrust you with the true riches? ³ 

And if you haven’t been trustworthy ¹  with someone else’s property, ²  who will give you your own ³ ?

That very day Herod and Pilate became friends with each other, ¹  for prior to this they had been enemies. ² 

(This ¹  was a man who had been thrown into prison for an insurrection ²  started in the city, and for murder.) ³ 

He is not here, but has been raised! ¹  Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee, ²
