if it is exhortation, he must exhort; if it is contributing, he must do so with sincerity; if it is leadership, he must do so with diligence; if it is showing mercy, he must do so with cheerfulness.

He will not break a bruised reed or extinguish a smoldering wick, until he brings justice to victory.

But now, freed ¹  from sin and enslaved to God, you have your benefit ²  leading to sanctification, and the end is eternal life.

maintain ¹  yourselves in the love of God, while anticipating ²  the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that brings eternal life. ³ 

She persuaded him ¹  with persuasive words; ²  with her smooth talk ³  she compelled him. ⁴ 

Those who are wise ¹  store up ²  knowledge, but foolish speech ³  leads to imminent ⁴  destruction.

When pride ¹  comes, ²  then comes disgrace, ³  but with humility ⁴  comes ⁵  wisdom.

With pride ¹  comes only ²  contention, but wisdom is with the well-advised. ³ 

A person’s gift ¹  makes room for him, and leads him ²  before important people.

The righteous person ¹  behaves in integrity; ²  blessed are his children after him. ³ 

The plans of the diligent ¹  lead ²  only to plenty, ³  but everyone who is hasty comes only to poverty. ⁴ 

She makes linen garments ¹  and sells them, and supplies the merchants ²  with sashes.

I thank God that I speak in tongues more than all of you,

to godliness, brotherly affection; to brotherly affection, unselfish ¹  love. ² 

If ¹  anyone sees his fellow Christian ²  committing a sin not resulting in death, ³  he should ask, and God ⁴  will grant ⁵  life to the person who commits a sin not resulting in death. ⁶  There is a sin resulting in death. ⁷  I do not say that he should ask about that.

All unrighteousness ¹  is sin, but there is sin not resulting in death. ² 

¹  David said, “Whoever attacks ²  the Jebusites first will become commanding general!” ³  So Joab son of Zeruiah attacked ⁴  first and became commander. ⁵ 

Like a shepherd he tends his flock; he gathers up the lambs with his arm; he carries them close to his heart; ¹  he leads the ewes along.

If anyone is meant for captivity, into captivity he will go. If anyone is to be killed by the sword, ¹  then by the sword he must be killed. This ²  requires steadfast endurance ³  and faith from the saints.

Certainly ¹  the Lord guards the way of the godly, ²  but the way of the wicked ends in destruction. ³
