“Take the Levites from among the Israelites and purify ¹  them.

“Separate yourselves ¹  from among this community, ²  that I may consume them in an instant.”

But if you continue to do evil, both you and your king will be swept away.”

Saul replied, “May you be blessed by the Lord, for you have had compassion on me.

“Without a doubt you are the people, ¹  and wisdom will die with you. ²

Look, you are nothing, and your accomplishments are nonexistent; the one who chooses to worship you is disgusting. ¹ 

I scattered them among the nations; they were dispersed throughout foreign countries. In accordance with their behavior and their deeds I judged them.

Persia, ¹  Ethiopia, and Put ²  are with them, all of them with shields and helmets.

According to their uncleanness and rebellion I have dealt with them, and I hid my face from them.
