But King Solomon will be empowered ¹  and David’s dynasty ²  will endure permanently before the Lord.”

The Lord ¹  was pleased that Solomon made this request. ² 

Ben-Abinadab was in charge of Naphath Dor. (He was married to Solomon’s daughter Taphath.)

Ahimaaz was in charge of Naphtali. (He married Solomon’s daughter Basemath.)

Each day Solomon’s royal court consumed ¹  thirty cors ²  of finely milled flour, sixty cors of cereal,

Solomon had 4,000 ¹  stalls for his chariot horses and 12,000 horses.

Solomon was wiser than all the men of the east and all the sages of Egypt. ¹ 

So Hiram supplied the cedars and evergreens Solomon needed, ¹ 

King Solomon conscripted ¹  work crews ²  from throughout Israel, 30,000 men in all.

Solomon also had 70,000 common laborers ¹  and 80,000 stonecutters ²  in the hills,

Solomon stood before the altar of the Lord in front of the entire assembly of Israel and spread out his hands toward the sky. ¹ 

the Lord appeared to Solomon a second time, in the same way he had appeared to him at Gibeon. ¹ 

Hiram sent his fleet and some of his sailors, who were well acquainted with the sea, to serve with Solomon’s men. ¹ 

When the queen of Sheba heard about Solomon, ¹  she came to challenge ²  him with difficult questions. ³ 

When the queen of Sheba saw for herself Solomon’s extensive wisdom, ¹  the palace ²  he had built,

Solomon acquired his horses from Egypt ¹  and from Que; the king’s traders purchased them from Que.

Solomon worshiped ¹  the Sidonian goddess Astarte and the detestable Ammonite god Milcom. ² 

Solomon did evil in the Lord’s sight; ¹  he did not remain loyal to ²  the Lord, like his father David had.
