The priests brought the ark of the covenant of the Lord to its assigned ¹  place in the inner sanctuary of the temple, in the most holy place under the wings of the cherubs.

The governor ¹  instructed them not to eat any of the sacred food until there was a priest who could consult ²  the Urim and Thummim.

Then I said to them, “You are holy to the Lord, just as these vessels are holy. The silver and the gold are a voluntary offering to the Lord, the God of your fathers.

Then he measured its length as 35 feet, ¹  and its width as 35 feet, ²  before the outer sanctuary. He said to me, “This is the most holy place.”

“This is the law of the temple: The entire area on top of the mountain all around will be most holy. Indeed, this is the law of the temple.

On the day he enters the sanctuary, into the inner court to serve in the sanctuary, he must offer his sin offering, declares the sovereign Lord.

From this measured area you will measure a length of eight and a quarter miles ¹  and a width of three and one-third miles; ²  in it will be the sanctuary, the most holy place.

The ships of Kittim ¹  will come against him, leaving him disheartened. ²  He will turn back and direct his indignation against the holy covenant. He will return and honor ³  those who forsake the holy covenant.

You will be convinced ¹  that I the Lord am your God, dwelling on Zion, my holy mountain. Jerusalem ²  will be holy – conquering armies ³  will no longer pass through it.

You must make holy garments ¹  for your brother Aaron, for glory and for beauty. ² 

and twelve and a half pounds of cassia, all weighed ¹  according to the sanctuary shekel, and four quarts ²  of olive oil.

In the fourth year all its fruit will be holy, praise offerings ¹  to the Lord.

But the Kohathites ¹  are not to go in to watch while the holy things are being covered, or they will die.”

Boast about his holy name! Let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice!

Their fellow Levites were in charge of the storehouses ¹  in God’s temple and the storehouses containing consecrated items.

The sum total of the Levites in the holy city was 284.

“I myself ¹  have installed ²  my king on Zion, my holy hill.”

Who is allowed to ascend ¹  the mountain of the Lord? ²  Who may go up to his holy dwelling place?

Acknowledge the majesty of the Lord’s reputation! ¹  Worship the Lord in holy attire! ²
