The people of those nations ¹  are both stupid and foolish. Instruction from a wooden idol is worthless! ² 

The sticks you write on will be in your hand in front of them.

For the stones in the walls will cry out, and the wooden rafters will answer back. ¹ 

The Lord God made all kinds of trees grow from the soil, ¹  every tree that was pleasing to look at ²  and good for food. (Now ³  the tree of life ⁴  and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil ⁵  were in the middle of the orchard.)

Suppose he goes with someone else ¹  to the forest to cut wood and when he raises the ax ²  to cut the tree, the ax head flies loose ³  from the handle and strikes ⁴  his fellow worker ⁵  so hard that he dies. The person responsible ⁶  may then flee to one of these cities to save himself. ⁷

Let a little water be brought so that ¹  you may all ²  wash your feet and rest under the tree.

¹ “You are to make a table of acacia wood; its length is to be three feet, its width one foot six inches, and its height two feet three inches.

You are to make the poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold, so that the table may be carried with them. ¹ 

“You are to make bars of acacia wood, five for the frames on one side of the tabernacle,

You are to make poles for the altar, poles of acacia wood, and you are to overlay them with bronze.

and in cutting stones for their setting, ¹  and in cutting wood, to do work in every artistic craft. ²

and the sons of Aaron, the priest, ¹  must put fire on the altar and arrange wood on the fire.
