When Baasha heard the news, he stopped fortifying ¹  Ramah and abandoned the project. ² 

He had many supplies stored in the cities of Judah and an army of skilled warriors stationed in Jerusalem. ¹ 

supervised the laborers and all the foremen on their various jobs. ¹  Some of the Levites were scribes, officials, and guards.

So we worked on, ¹  with half ²  holding spears, from dawn till dusk. ³ 

Shabbethai and Jozabad, leaders ¹  of the Levites, were in charge of the external work for the temple of God;

So I purified them of everything foreign, and I assigned specific ¹  duties to the priests and the Levites.

But as for me, God’s presence is all I need. ¹  I have made the sovereign Lord my shelter, as ²  I declare all the things you have done.

Do you see a person skilled ¹  in his work? He will take his position before kings; he will not take his position ²  before obscure people. ³
