The people regretted what had happened to ¹  Benjamin because the Lord had weakened ²  the Israelite tribes.

The leaders ¹  of the assembly said, “How can we find wives for those who are left? ²  After all, the Benjaminite women have been wiped out.

Then Samuel brought all the tribes of Israel near, and the tribe of Benjamin was chosen by lot.

Saul, his son Jonathan, and the army that remained with them stayed in Gibeah in the territory of Benjamin, while the Philistines camped in Micmash. ¹
