For to the snow he says, ‘Fall ¹  to earth,’ and to the torrential rains, ²  ‘Pour down.’ ³ 

Here is ¹  another misfortune ²  that I have seen on earth, ³  and it weighs ⁴  heavily on people: ⁵ 

“But they refused to pay attention, turning away stubbornly and stopping their ears so they could not hear.

Look, the name ¹  of the Lord comes from a distant place in raging anger and awesome splendor. ²  He speaks angrily and his word is like destructive fire. ³ 

No, this is the kind of fast I want. ¹  I want you ²  to remove the sinful chains, to tear away the ropes of the burdensome yoke, to set free the oppressed, ³  and to break every burdensome yoke.

Abijah and his army thoroughly defeated them; ¹  500,000 well-trained Israelite men fell dead. ² 

So look, the Lord is about to severely afflict ¹  your people, your sons, your wives, and all you own.

Bel ¹  kneels down, Nebo ²  bends low. Their images weigh down animals and beasts. ³  Your heavy images are burdensome to tired animals. ⁴ 

Look, the Lord’s hand is not too weak ¹  to deliver you; his ear is not too deaf to hear you. ² 

“Men, I can see the voyage is going to end ¹  in disaster ²  and great loss not only of the cargo and the ship, but also of our lives.” ³ 

This is the service of the families of Gershonites, as they serve ¹  and carry it.
