Let the sky rejoice, and the earth be happy! Let the sea and everything in it shout!

For your loyal love extends beyond the sky, ¹  and your faithfulness reaches the clouds.

Rise up ¹  above the sky, O God! May your splendor cover the whole earth! ² 

But, according to his promise, we are waiting for ¹  new heavens and a new earth, in which ²  righteousness truly resides. ³ 

Israel lives in safety, the fountain of Jacob is quite secure, ¹  in a land of grain and new wine; indeed, its heavens ²  rain down dew. ³ 

to the one who rides through the sky from ancient times! ¹  Look! He thunders loudly. ² 

For he looks to the ends of the earth and observes everything under the heavens.

O Lord, your loyal love reaches to the sky; ¹  your faithfulness to the clouds. ² 

For I say, “Loyal love is permanently established; ¹  in the skies you set up your faithfulness.” ² 

He covers himself with light as if it were a garment. He stretches out the skies like a tent curtain,

I will produce portents both in the sky ¹  and on the earth – blood, fire, and columns of smoke.

“Look!” he said. ¹  “I see the heavens opened, and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!”

so man lies down and does not rise; until the heavens are no more, ¹  they ²  will not awake nor arise from their sleep.

For the music director; a psalm of David. The heavens declare the glory of God; ²  the sky displays his handiwork. ³ 

By the Lord’s decree ¹  the heavens were made; by a mere word from his mouth all the stars in the sky were created. ² 

the earth shakes, yes, the heavens pour down rain before God, the God of Sinai, ¹  before God, the God of Israel. ² 

The heavens belong to you, as does the earth. You made the world and all it contains. ¹ 

Listen, O heavens, pay attention, O earth! ¹  For the Lord speaks: “I raised children, ²  I brought them up, ³  but ⁴  they have rebelled ⁵  against me!

For look, I am ready to create new heavens and a new earth! ¹  The former ones ²  will not be remembered; no one will think about them anymore. ³ 

He, the very one ¹  who descended, is also the one who ascended above all the heavens, in order to fill all things.
