But as for these enemies of mine who did not want me to be their king, ¹  bring them here and slaughter ²  them ³  in front of me!’”

So ¹  they got up that very hour and returned to Jerusalem. ²  They ³  found the eleven and those with them gathered together

If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you too ought to wash one another’s feet.

When Ananias heard these words he collapsed and died, and great fear gripped ¹  all who heard about it.

They incited the people, the ¹  elders, and the experts in the law; ²  then they approached Stephen, ³  seized him, and brought him before the council. ⁴ 

But when he was about forty years old, it entered his mind ¹  to visit his fellow countrymen ²  the Israelites. ³ 

The following day ¹  he entered Caesarea. ²  Now Cornelius was waiting anxiously ³  for them and had called together his relatives and close friends.

And indeed you are practicing it toward all the brothers and sisters ¹  in all of Macedonia. But we urge you, brothers and sisters, to do so more and more, ² 

And we urge you, brothers and sisters, ¹  admonish the undisciplined, comfort the discouraged, help the weak, be patient toward all.

With it we bless the Lord ¹  and Father, and with it we curse people ²  made in God’s image.

saying to the sixth angel, the one holding ¹  the trumpet, “Set free ²  the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates!”

and Josiah ¹  the father of Jeconiah and his brothers, at the time of the deportation to Babylon.

Then ¹  he instructed the crowds to sit down on the grass. He took the five loaves and two fish, and looking up to heaven he gave thanks and broke the loaves. He gave them to the disciples, ²  who in turn gave them to the crowds. ³ 

Or the seven loaves for the four thousand and how many baskets you took up?

When ¹  they looked up, all they saw was Jesus alone.

They wanted to arrest him, but they were afraid of the crowds, because the crowds ¹  regarded him as a prophet.

The ¹  rest seized his slaves, insolently mistreated them, and killed them.

Now when the Pharisees ¹  heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, ²  they assembled together. ³ 

and elaborate greetings ¹  in the marketplaces, and to have people call them ‘Rabbi.’

By saying this you testify against yourselves that you are descendants of those who murdered the prophets.
