telling them, “Go to the village ahead of you. ¹  Right away you will find a donkey tied there, and a colt with her. Untie them and bring them to me.

But while they had gone to buy it, the bridegroom arrived, and those who were ready went inside with him to the wedding banquet. Then ¹  the door was shut.

“When ¹  the Son of Man comes in his glory and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne.

He ¹  answered, “The one who has dipped his hand into the bowl with me ²  will betray me.

Then Jesus went with them to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to the disciples, “Sit here while I go over there and pray.”

Then he came to the disciples and found them sleeping. He ¹  said to Peter, “So, couldn’t you stay awake with me for one hour?

He said to them, “Have you never read what David did when he was in need and he and his companions were hungry –

So ¹  after leaving the crowd, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat, ²  and other boats were with him.

He did not let anyone follow him except Peter, James, ¹  and John, the brother of James.

for they all saw him and were terrified. But immediately he spoke to them: ¹  “Have courage! It is I. Do not be afraid.”

While they were at the table ¹  eating, Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, ²  one of you eating with me will betray me.” ³ 

Her ¹  neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord had shown ²  great mercy to her, and they rejoiced ³  with her.

Then ¹  Levi gave a great banquet ²  in his house for Jesus, ³  and there was a large crowd of tax collectors and others sitting ⁴  at the table with them.

So ¹  Jesus said to them, “You cannot make the wedding guests ²  fast while the bridegroom ³  is with them, can you? ⁴ 

Jesus ¹  answered them, ²  “Haven’t you read what David did when he and his companions were hungry –

Now one of the Pharisees ¹  asked Jesus ²  to have dinner with him, so ³  he went into the Pharisee’s house and took his place at the table. ⁴ 

The expert in religious law ¹  said, “The one who showed mercy ²  to him.” So ³  Jesus said to him, “Go and do ⁴  the same.”

Then ¹  someone from the crowd said to him, “Teacher, tell ²  my brother to divide the inheritance with me.”

After ¹  a few days, ²  the younger son gathered together all he had and left on a journey to a distant country, and there he squandered ³  his wealth ⁴  with a wild lifestyle.

And after about an hour still another insisted, ¹  “Certainly this man was with him, because he too is a Galilean.” ²
