And because they saw the man who had been healed standing with them, they had nothing to say against this. ¹ 

But during the night an angel of the Lord ¹  opened ²  the doors of the prison, ³  led them out, ⁴  and said,

Then he said to the council, ¹  “Men of Israel, ²  pay close attention to ³  what you are about to do to these men.

And every day both in the temple courts ¹  and from house to house, they did not stop teaching and proclaiming the good news ²  that Jesus was the Christ. ³ 

As he was going along, approaching ¹  Damascus, suddenly a light from heaven flashed ²  around him.

Immediately ¹  something like scales ²  fell from his eyes, and he could see again. He ³  got up and was baptized,

The ¹  hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number who believed ²  turned ³  to the Lord.

So Barnabas and Saul, ¹  sent out by the Holy Spirit, went down to Seleucia, ²  and from there they sailed to Cyprus. ³ 

When both the Gentiles and the Jews (together with their rulers) made ¹  an attempt to mistreat ²  them and stone them, ³ 

They began to call ¹  Barnabas Zeus ²  and Paul Hermes, ³  because he was the chief speaker.

After they had proclaimed the good news in that city and made many disciples, they returned to Lystra, ¹  to Iconium, ²  and to Antioch. ³ 

and he made no distinction ¹  between them and us, cleansing ²  their hearts by faith.

Both Judas and Silas, who were prophets themselves, encouraged and strengthened the brothers with a long speech. ¹ 

They had ¹  a sharp disagreement, ²  so that they parted company. Barnabas took along ³  Mark and sailed away to Cyprus, ⁴ 

The jailer ¹  brought them into his house and set food ²  before them, and he rejoiced greatly ³  that he had come to believe ⁴  in God, together with his entire household. ⁵ 

Then Paul ¹  went back upstairs, ²  and after he had broken bread and eaten, he talked with them ³  a long time, until dawn. Then he left.

testifying ¹  to both Jews and Greeks about repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus. ² 

When we heard this, both we and the local people ¹  begged him not to go up to Jerusalem.

The next day Paul went in with us to see James, and all the elders were there. ¹ 

While they were trying ¹  to kill him, a report ²  was sent up ³  to the commanding officer ⁴  of the cohort ⁵  that all Jerusalem was in confusion. ⁶
