Now in that city was a man named Simon, who had been practicing magic ¹  and amazing the people of Samaria, claiming to be someone great.

Even Simon himself believed, and after he was baptized, he stayed close to ¹  Philip constantly, and when he saw the signs and great miracles that were occurring, he was amazed. ² 

Now Simon, when he saw that the Spirit ¹  was given through the laying on of the apostles’ hands, offered them money,

But Simon replied, ¹  “You pray to the Lord for me so that nothing of what you have said may happen to ²  me.”

From Simeon ¹  Peter, ²  a slave ³  and apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who through the righteousness of our God ⁴  and Savior, ⁵  Jesus Christ, have been granted ⁶  a faith just as precious ⁷  as ours.

Then when they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, ¹  do you love me more than these do?” ²  He replied, ³  “Yes, Lord, you know I love you.” ⁴  Jesus ⁵  told him, “Feed my lambs.”

As ¹  he was walking by the Sea of Galilee he saw two brothers, Simon (called Peter) and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea (for they were fishermen). ² 

Now these are the names of the twelve apostles: ¹  first, Simon ²  (called Peter), and Andrew his brother; James son of Zebedee and John his brother;

Isn’t this the carpenter’s son? Isn’t his mother named Mary? ¹  And aren’t his brothers James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas?

And Jesus answered him, ¹  “You are blessed, Simon son of Jonah, because flesh and blood ²  did not reveal this to you, but my Father in heaven!

Isn’t this the carpenter, the son ¹  of Mary ²  and brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And aren’t his sisters here with us?” And so they took offense at him.

Now ¹  while Jesus ²  was in Bethany at the house of Simon the leper, reclining at the table, ³  a woman came with an alabaster jar ⁴  of costly aromatic oil ⁵  from pure nard. After breaking open the jar, she poured it on his head.

He got into ¹  one of the boats, which was Simon’s, and asked him to put out a little way from the shore. Then ²  Jesus ³  sat down ⁴  and taught the crowds from the boat.

Andrew brought Simon ¹  to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, “You are Simon, the son of John. ²  You will be called Cephas” (which is translated Peter). ³ 

Jesus replied, ¹  “It is the one to whom I will give this piece of bread ²  after I have dipped it in the dish.” ³  Then he dipped the piece of bread in the dish ⁴  and gave it to Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son.

Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, pulled it out and struck the high priest’s slave, ¹  cutting off his right ear. ²  (Now the slave’s name was Malchus.) ³ 

Simon Peter and another disciple followed them as they brought Jesus to Annas. ¹  (Now the other disciple ²  was acquainted with the high priest, and he went with Jesus into the high priest’s courtyard.) ³ 

Meanwhile Simon Peter was standing in the courtyard ¹  warming himself. They said to him, “You aren’t one of his disciples too, are you?” ²  Peter ³  denied it: “I am not!”

So she went running ¹  to Simon Peter and the other disciple whom Jesus loved and told them, “They have taken the Lord from the tomb, and we don’t know where they have put him!”

Simon Peter, Thomas ¹  (called Didymus), ²  Nathanael ³  (who was from Cana ⁴  in Galilee), the sons ⁵  of Zebedee, ⁶  and two other disciples ⁷  of his were together.
