Nevertheless I must ¹  go on my way today and tomorrow and the next day, because it is impossible ²  that a prophet should be killed ³  outside Jerusalem.’ ⁴ 

Then ¹  beginning with Moses and all the prophets, ²  he interpreted to them the things written about ³  himself in all the scriptures.

(For Jesus himself had testified that a prophet has no honor in his own country.) ¹ 

When they heard these words, some of the crowd ¹  began to say, “This really ²  is the Prophet!” ³ 

But the things God foretold ¹  long ago through ²  all the prophets – that his Christ ³  would suffer – he has fulfilled in this way.

Every person ¹  who does not obey that prophet will be destroyed and thus removed ²  from the people.’ ³ 

And all the prophets, from Samuel and those who followed him, have spoken about and announced ¹  these days.

and was returning home, sitting ¹  in his chariot, reading ²  the prophet Isaiah.

Both Judas and Silas, who were prophets themselves, encouraged and strengthened the brothers with a long speech. ¹ 

But now ¹  apart from the law the righteousness of God (which is attested by the law and the prophets) ²  has been disclosed –

If anyone considers himself a prophet or spiritual person, he should acknowledge that what I write to you is the Lord’s command.

because you have been built ¹  on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, ²  with Christ Jesus himself as ³  the cornerstone. ⁴ 

It was he ¹  who gave some as apostles, some as prophets, some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, ² 

A certain one of them, in fact, one of their own prophets, said, “Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons.” ¹ 

As an example of suffering and patience, brothers and sisters, ¹  take the prophets who spoke in the Lord’s name.

Concerning this salvation, ¹  the prophets ²  who predicted the grace that would come to you ³  searched and investigated carefully.

because they poured out the blood of your saints and prophets, so ¹  you have given them blood to drink. They got what they deserved!” ² 

The ¹  blood of the saints and prophets was found in her, ²  along with the blood ³  of all those who had been killed on the earth.”

He came to a town called Nazareth ¹  and lived there. Then what had been spoken by the prophets was fulfilled, that Jesus ²  would be called a Nazarene. ³ 

Rejoice and be glad because your reward is great in heaven, for they persecuted the prophets before you in the same way.
