And I pray this, that your love may abound even more and more in knowledge and every kind of insight

We always ¹  give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you,

So I want the men ¹  to pray ²  in every place, lifting up holy hands ³  without anger or dispute.

Pray for us, for we are sure that we have a clear conscience and desire to conduct ourselves rightly in every respect.

Then ¹  he prayed again, and the sky gave rain and the land sprouted with a harvest.

But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith, by praying in the Holy Spirit, ¹ 

And after he sent the crowds away, he went up the mountain by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone.

Then little children were brought to him for him to lay his hands on them and pray. ¹  But the disciples scolded those who brought them. ² 

Then Jesus went with them to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to the disciples, “Sit here while I go over there and pray.”

For this reason I tell you, whatever you pray and ask for, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Then ¹  they went to a place called Gethsemane, and Jesus ²  said to his disciples, “Sit here while I pray.”

Going a little farther, he threw himself to the ground and prayed that if it were possible the hour would pass from him.

Now ¹  it was during this time that Jesus ²  went out to the mountain ³  to pray, and he spent all night ⁴  in prayer to God. ⁵ 

Now ¹  about eight days ²  after these sayings, Jesus ³  took with him Peter, John, and James, and went up the mountain to pray.

As ¹  he was praying, ²  the appearance of his face was transformed, ³  and his clothes became very bright, a brilliant white. ⁴ 

So he said to them, “When you pray, ¹  say: Father, ²  may your name be honored; ³  may your kingdom come. ⁴ 

And in his anguish ¹  he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.] ² 

About noon ¹  the next day, while they were on their way and approaching ²  the city, Peter went up on the roof ³  to pray.

When Peter ¹  realized this, he went to the house of Mary, the mother of John Mark, ²  where many people had gathered together and were praying.

But any woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered disgraces her head, for it is one and the same thing as having a shaved head.
