And whoever welcomes ¹  a child like this in my name welcomes me.

For where two or three are assembled in my name, I am there among them.”

For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ ¹  and they will mislead many.

As ¹  they were going out, they found a man from Cyrene named Simon, whom they forced ²  to carry his cross. ³ 

Then ¹  one of the synagogue rulers, ²  named Jairus, ³  came up, and when he saw Jesus, ⁴  he fell at his feet.

Both those who went ahead and those who followed kept shouting, “Hosanna! ¹  Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord! ² 

Many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he,’ ¹  and they will mislead many.

You will be hated by everyone because of my name. ¹  But the one who endures to the end will be saved. ² 

These signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new languages; ¹ 

Listen: ¹  You will become pregnant ²  and give birth to ³  a son, and you will name him ⁴  Jesus. ⁵ 

They ¹  said to her, “But ²  none of your relatives bears this name.” ³ 

He ¹  asked for a writing tablet ²  and wrote, ³  “His name is John.” And they were all amazed. ⁴ 

Now ¹  a man named Zacchaeus was there; he was a chief tax collector ²  and was rich.

“Blessed is the king ¹  who comes in the name of the Lord! ²  Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”

and repentance ¹  for the forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed ²  in his name to all nations, ³  beginning from Jerusalem. ⁴ 

Father, glorify your name.” Then a voice came from heaven, ¹  “I have glorified it, ²  and I will glorify it ³  again.”

But they will do all these things to you on account of ¹  my name, because they do not know the one who sent me. ² 

After ¹  making Peter and John ²  stand in their midst, they began to inquire, “By what power or by what name ³  did you do this?”

And they called them in and ordered ¹  them not to speak or teach at all in the name ²  of Jesus.

So they left the council rejoicing because they had been considered worthy ¹  to suffer dishonor for the sake of the name. ²
