so that this generation may be held accountable ¹  for the blood of all the prophets that has been shed since the beginning ²  of the world, ³ 

For all the nations of the world pursue ¹  these things, and your Father knows that you need them.

The true light, who gives light to everyone, ¹  was coming into the world. ² 

For the bread of God is the one who ¹  comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”

“If the world hates you, be aware ¹  that it hated me first. ² 

I am not asking you to take them out of the world, but that you keep them safe ¹  from the evil one. ² 

for before the law was given, ¹  sin was in the world, but there is no accounting for sin ²  when there is no law.

Now if their transgression means riches for the world and their defeat means riches for the Gentiles, how much more will their full restoration ¹  bring?

For if their rejection is the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?

whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future. Everything belongs to you,

For sadness as intended by God produces a repentance that leads to salvation, leaving no regret, but worldly sadness brings about death.

So also we, when we were minors, ¹  were enslaved under the basic forces ²  of the world.

For ¹  he chose us in Christ ²  before the foundation of the world that we may be holy and unblemished ³  in his sight ⁴  in love. ⁵ 

So when he came into the world, he said, “Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me.

Let your ¹  beauty ²  not be external – the braiding of hair and wearing of gold jewelry ³  or fine clothes –

And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son to be the Savior ¹  of the world.

We know that we are from God, ¹  and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.

Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their grandeur. ¹ 

Woe to the world because of stumbling blocks! It ¹  is necessary that stumbling blocks come, but woe to the person through whom they come.

For then there will be great suffering ¹  unlike anything that has happened ²  from the beginning of the world until now, or ever will happen.
