It is good not to eat meat or drink wine or to do anything that causes your brother to stumble. ¹ 

Your boasting is not good. Don’t you know that a little yeast ¹  affects ²  the whole batch of dough?

To the unmarried and widows I say that it is best for them to remain as I am.

So we must not grow weary ¹  in doing good, for in due time we will reap, if we do not give up. ² 

And he must be well thought of by ¹  those outside the faith, ²  so that he may not fall into disgrace and be caught by the devil’s trap. ³ 

For those who have served well as deacons gain a good standing for themselves ¹  and great boldness in the faith that is in Christ Jesus. ² 

Similarly good works are also obvious, and the ones that are not cannot remain hidden.

Here is another way that our people ¹  can learn ²  to engage in good works to meet pressing needs and so not be unfruitful.

Pray for us, for we are sure that we have a clear conscience and desire to conduct ourselves rightly in every respect.

Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct he should show his works done in the gentleness that wisdom brings. ¹ 

Just as each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another ¹  as good stewards of the varied grace of God.

Even now the ax is laid at ¹  the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.

But other seeds fell on good soil and produced grain, some a hundred times as much, some sixty, and some thirty.

He presented them with another parable: ¹  “The kingdom of heaven is like a person who sowed good seed in his field.

So the slaves ¹  of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Then where did the weeds come from?’

When it was full, they pulled it ashore, sat down, and put the good fish into containers and threw the bad away.

“It is not right ¹  to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs,” ²  he said. ³ 

When ¹  Jesus learned of this, he said to them, “Why are you bothering this woman? She ²  has done a good service for me.

He said to her, “Let the children be satisfied first, for it is not right to take the children’s bread and to throw it to the dogs.” ¹ 

Salt ¹  is good, but if it loses its saltiness, ²  how can you make it salty again? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with each other.”
