Take what is yours and go. I ¹  want to give to this last man ²  the same as I gave to you.

It must not be this way among you! Instead whoever wants to be great among you must be your servant,

Jesus stopped, called them, and said, “What do you want me to do for you?”

He sent his slaves ¹  to summon those who had been invited to the banquet, but they would not come.

During the feast the governor was accustomed to release one prisoner to the crowd, ¹  whomever they wanted.

and offered Jesus ¹  wine mixed with gall to drink. ²  But after tasting it, he would not drink it.

He trusts in God – let God, if he wants to, deliver him now ¹  because he said, ‘I am God’s Son’!”

Moved with compassion, ¹  Jesus ²  stretched out his hand and touched ³  him, saying, “I am willing. Be clean!”

Now ¹  Jesus went up the mountain ²  and called for those he wanted, and they came to him.

So Herodias nursed a grudge against him and wanted to kill him. But ¹  she could not

Although it grieved the king deeply, ¹  he did not want to reject her request because of his oath and his guests.

But I tell you that Elijah has certainly come, and they did to him whatever they wanted, just as it is written about him.”

They went out from there and passed through Galilee. But ¹  Jesus ²  did not want anyone to know,

So Pilate asked them, ¹  “Do you want me to release the king of the Jews for you?”

¹  No ²  one after drinking old wine wants the new, for he says, ‘The old is good enough.’” ³ 

So ¹  he was told, “Your mother and your brothers are standing outside, wanting to see you.”

But the expert, ¹  wanting to justify ²  himself, said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”

But the older son ¹  became angry ²  and refused ³  to go in. His father came out and appealed to him,

For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, ¹  so also the Son gives life to whomever he wishes. ²
