Then ¹  they cast lots for them, and the one chosen was Matthias; ²  so he was counted with the eleven apostles. ³ 

So when ¹  Peter came in, Cornelius met ²  him, fell ³  at his feet, and worshiped ⁴  him.

When ¹  I returned to Jerusalem and was praying in the temple, I fell into a trance ² 

When all the people saw this, they threw themselves down with their faces to the ground and said, “The Lord is the true God! ¹  The Lord is the true God!”

Now the Philistines fought against Israel. The Israelites fled before the Philistines and many of them fell dead on Mount Gilboa.

Then Job got up ¹  and tore his robe. ²  He shaved his head, ³  and then he threw himself down with his face to the ground. ⁴ 

But those three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell into the furnace ¹  of blazing fire while still securely bound. ² 

Then the woman, with fear and trembling, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell down before him and told him the whole truth.

and as they sailed he fell asleep. Now a violent windstorm ¹  came down on the lake, ²  and the boat ³  started filling up with water, and they were in danger.

When Ananias heard these words he collapsed and died, and great fear gripped ¹  all who heard about it.

Then he fell ¹  to his knees and cried out with a loud voice, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them!” ²  When ³  he had said this, he died. ⁴ 

The twenty-four elders and the four living creatures threw themselves to the ground ¹  and worshiped God, who was seated on the throne, saying: “Amen! Hallelujah!”

And the rain fell ¹  on the earth forty days and forty nights.

¹ At that time Jeroboam’s son Abijah became sick.

Then he threw himself on the neck of his brother Benjamin and wept, and Benjamin wept on his neck.

Then his brothers also came and threw themselves down before him; they said, “Here we are; we are your slaves.”

I wipe them out and beat them to death; they cannot get up; they fall at my feet.

I beat them ¹  to death; ²  they fall at my feet. ³ 

So he used suffering to humble them; ¹  they stumbled and no one helped them up.

And let us not be immoral, as some of them were, and twenty-three thousand died in a single day. ¹
