The son ¹  of Appaim: Ishi. The son of Ishi: Sheshan. The son of Sheshan: Ahlai.

The sons of Manasseh: Asriel, who was born to Manasseh’s Aramean concubine. ¹  She also gave birth to Makir the father of Gilead.

Next in command ¹  was Eleazar son of Dodo the Ahohite. He was one of the three elite warriors.

He has neither children nor descendants ¹  among his people, no survivor in those places he once stayed. ²

And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s descendants, ¹  heirs according to the promise.

For surely his concern is not for angels, but he is concerned for Abraham’s descendants.

Yet another battle occurred in Gath. On that occasion there was a large man ¹  who had six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot, twenty-four in all! He too was a descendant of Rapha.

A priest of Aaron’s line ¹  will be with the Levites when the Levites collect the tithes, and the Levites will bring up a tenth of the tithes to the temple of our God, to the storerooms of the treasury.

You must not hate an Edomite, for he is your relative; ¹  you must not hate an Egyptian, for you lived as a foreigner ²  in his land.

The seventh, assigned the seventh month, was Helez the Pelonite, an Ephraimite. His division consisted of 24,000 men.

The eighth, assigned the eighth month, was Sibbekai the Hushathite, a Zerahite. His division consisted of 24,000 men.

The tenth, assigned the tenth month, was Maharai the Netophathite, a Zerahite. His division consisted of 24,000 men.

All who possessed precious ¹  stones donated them to the treasury of the Lord’s temple, which was under the supervision of Jehiel the Gershonite.

King Belshazzar ¹  prepared a great banquet ²  for a thousand of his nobles, and he was drinking wine in front of ³  them all. ⁴ 

Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him and exclaimed, ¹  “Look, a true Israelite in whom there is no deceit!” ² 

Don’t the scriptures say that the Christ is a descendant ¹  of David ²  and comes from Bethlehem, ³  the village where David lived?” ⁴ 

It is not as though the word of God had failed. For not all those who are descended from Israel are truly Israel, ¹
