“Woe to you, experts in the law ¹  and you Pharisees, hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs that look beautiful on the outside but inside are full of the bones of the dead and of everything unclean. ² 

Suppose a prophet or one who foretells by dreams ¹  should appear among you and show you a sign or wonder, ² 

So I will pull your skirt up over your face and expose you to shame like a disgraced adulteress! ¹ 

And if the righteous are barely saved, what will become of ¹  the ungodly and sinners? ² 

“Therefore this is what the sovereign Lord says: ‘Because you have brought up ¹  your own guilt by uncovering your transgressions and revealing your sins through all your actions, for this reason you will be taken by force. ² 

“If ¹  it is a white bright spot on the skin of his body, but it does not appear to be deeper than the skin, ²  and the hair has not turned white, then the priest is to quarantine the person with the infection for seven days. ³ 

If the thief is not caught, ¹  then the owner of the house will be brought before the judges ²  to see ³  whether he has laid ⁴  his hand on his neighbor’s goods.

Then Moses said to Korah, “You and all your company present yourselves before the Lord – you and they, and Aaron – tomorrow.

For, look, darkness covers the earth and deep darkness covers ¹  the nations, but the Lord shines on you; his splendor ²  appears over you.

The sins of some people are obvious, going before them into judgment, but for others, they show up later. ¹ 

Moses said, “As you wish! ¹  I will not see your face again.” ² 

But whenever raw flesh appears in it ¹  he will be unclean,

If I am guilty, ¹  why then ²  weary myself ³  in vain? ⁴ 

Even youngsters have scorned me; when I get up, ¹  they scoff at me. ² 

I maintain a pure lifestyle, ¹  so I can appear before your altar, ²  O Lord,

Violent men perjure themselves, ¹  and falsely accuse me. ² 

Even in laughter the heart may ache, ¹  and the end ²  of joy may be ³  grief.

When that time comes, ¹  sing about a delightful vineyard! ² 

Let him bury his face in the dust; ¹  perhaps there is hope.

But when Paul wanted to enter the public assembly, ¹  the disciples would not let him.
