These are the names of children born to him in Jerusalem: Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, Solomon,

But he did not invite Nathan the prophet, Benaiah, the elite warriors, ¹  or his brother Solomon.

Jonathan replied ¹  to Adonijah: “No! ²  Our master ³  King David has made Solomon king.

Adonijah feared Solomon, so he got up and went and grabbed hold of the horns of the altar. ¹

Hiram sent his fleet and some of his sailors, who were well acquainted with the sea, to serve with Solomon’s men. ¹ 

When the queen of Sheba saw for herself Solomon’s extensive wisdom, ¹  the palace ²  he had built,

Solomon received 666 talents ¹  of gold per year, ² 

Solomon’s son was Rehoboam, followed by Abijah his son, Asa his son, Jehoshaphat his son,

Johanan was the father of Azariah, who served as a priest in the temple Solomon built in Jerusalem. ¹

When David was old and approaching the end of his life, ¹  he made his son Solomon king over Israel.

That night God appeared ¹  to Solomon and said to him, “Tell me ²  what I should give you.”

(1:18) ¹  Solomon ordered a temple to be built to honor the Lord, as well as a royal palace for himself. ² 

These men worked for Solomon as supervisors; there were a total of 250 of them who were in charge of the people. ¹
