They reap fodder ¹  in the field, and glean ²  in the vineyard of the wicked.

The wild boars of the forest ruin it; ¹  the insects ²  of the field feed on it.

A person’s life is like grass. ¹  Like a flower in the field it flourishes,

We are coworkers belonging to God. ¹  You are God’s field, God’s building.

Those who accumulate houses are as good as dead, ¹  those who also accumulate landed property ²  until there is no land left, ³  and you are the only landowners remaining within the land. ⁴ 

So Abraham secured the field and the cave that was in it as a burial site ¹  from the sons of Heth.

Then Joab got up and came to Absalom’s house. He said to him, “Why did your servants set my portion of field on fire?”

He presented them with another parable: ¹  “The kingdom of heaven is like a person who sowed good seed in his field.

Then he left the crowds and went into the house. And his disciples came to him saying, “Explain to us the parable of the weeds in the field.”

The field is the world and the good seed are the people ¹  of the kingdom. The weeds are the people ²  of the evil one,

Now, come up ¹  at night with your men ²  and set an ambush in the field outside the city. ³ 

All you wild animals in the fields, come and devour, all you wild animals in the forest!

sold ¹  a field ²  that belonged to him and brought the money ³  and placed it at the apostles’ feet.

You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the field. ¹ 

You will be cursed in the city and cursed in the field.

Cain said to his brother Abel, “Let’s go out to the field.” ¹  While they were in the field, Cain attacked ²  his brother ³  Abel and killed him.

So he said to his servants, “Look, Joab has a portion of field adjacent to mine and he has some barley there. Go and set it on fire.” ¹  So Absalom’s servants set Joab’s ²  portion of the field on fire.

but those ¹  who did not take ²  the word of the Lord seriously left their servants and their cattle ³  in the field.

I will give you your rains in their time so that ¹  the land will give its yield and the trees of the field will produce their fruit. ² 

In the jubilee year the field will return to the one from whom he bought it, the one to whom it belongs as landed property.
