“When ¹  an unclean spirit ²  goes out of a person, ³  it passes through waterless places ⁴  looking for rest but ⁵  does not find it.

“I ¹  tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, ²  and after that have nothing more they can do.

But I will warn ¹  you whom you should fear: Fear the one who, after the killing, ²  has authority to throw you ³  into hell. ⁴  Yes, I tell you, fear him!

In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of God’s angels ¹  over one sinner who repents.”

And in hell, ¹  as he was in torment, ²  he looked up ³  and saw Abraham far off with Lazarus at his side. ⁴ 

And in his anguish ¹  he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.] ² 

“We found the jail locked securely and the guards standing at the doors, but when we opened them, ¹  we found no one inside.”

Now if I do what I do not want, it is no longer me doing it but sin that lives in me.

For the outlook ¹  of the flesh is death, but the outlook of the Spirit is life and peace,

But I will come to you soon, if the Lord is willing, and I will find out not only the talk of these arrogant people, but also their power.

For we rejoice whenever we are weak, but you are strong. And we pray for this: that you may become fully qualified. ¹ 

not like those who do their work only when someone is watching ¹  – as people-pleasers – but as slaves of Christ doing the will of God from the heart. ² 

for I know that this will turn out for my deliverance ¹  through your prayers and the help of the Spirit of Jesus Christ.

And the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds ¹  in Christ Jesus.

Let the peace of Christ be in control in your heart (for you were in fact called as one body ¹  to this peace), and be thankful.

I, Paul, have written ¹  this letter ²  with my own hand: ³  I will repay it. I could also mention that you owe ⁴  me your very self.

and the blast of a trumpet and a voice uttering words ¹  such that those who heard begged to hear no more. ² 

What good is it, my brothers and sisters, ¹  if someone claims to have faith but does not have works? Can this kind of faith ²  save him? ³ 

Their eyes, ¹  full of adultery, ²  never stop sinning; ³  they entice ⁴  unstable people. ⁵  They have trained their hearts for greed, these cursed children! ⁶ 

Grace, mercy, and ¹  peace will be with us from God the Father and from ²  Jesus Christ the Son of the Father, in truth and love.
