He ¹  said, “The time is fulfilled and the kingdom of God ²  is near. Repent and believe the gospel!”

nor will they say, ‘Look, here it is!’ or ‘There!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is ¹  in your midst.” ² 

I know that you are Abraham’s descendants. ¹  But you want ²  to kill me, because my teaching ³  makes no progress among you. ⁴ 

If you remain ¹  in me and my words remain ²  in you, ask whatever you want, and it will be done for you. ³ 

Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive it, ¹  so that your joy may be complete.

But now I am coming to you, and I am saying these things in the world, so they may experience ¹  my joy completed ²  in themselves.

Now when they heard this, ¹  they were acutely distressed ²  and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “What should we do, brothers?”

Therefore repent and turn back so that your sins may be wiped out,

Now when the apostles in Jerusalem ¹  heard that Samaria had accepted the word ²  of God, they sent ³  Peter and John to them.

For whenever the Gentiles, ¹  who do not have the law, do by nature ²  the things required by the law, ³  these who do not have the law are a law to themselves.

on the day when God will judge ¹  the secrets of human hearts, ²  according to my gospel ³  through Christ Jesus.

And Isaiah is even bold enough to say, “I was found by those who did not seek me; I became well known to those who did not ask for me.” ¹ 

But about Israel he says, “All day long I held out my hands to this disobedient and stubborn people!” ¹ 

And you are proud! ¹  Shouldn’t you have been deeply sorrowful instead and removed the one who did this ²  from among you?

The secrets of his heart are disclosed, and in this way he will fall down with his face to the ground and worship God, declaring, “God is really among you.”

Now the one who prepared us for this very purpose ¹  is God, who gave us the Spirit as a down payment. ² 

For even when we came into Macedonia, our body ¹  had no rest at all, but we were troubled in every way – struggles from the outside, fears from within.

And his affection for you is much greater ¹  when he remembers the obedience of you all, how you welcomed him with fear and trembling.

Therefore remember that formerly you, the Gentiles in the flesh – who are called “uncircumcision” by the so-called “circumcision” that is performed on the body ¹  by human hands –

I pray that ¹  according to the wealth of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inner person,
