It is the same with the resurrection of the dead. What is sown is perishable, what is raised is imperishable. ¹ 

I do not mean that we rule over your faith, but we are workers with you for your joy, because by faith you stand firm. ¹ 

Are we beginning to commend ourselves again? We don’t need letters of recommendation to you or from you as some other people do, do we? ¹ 

Therefore we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making His plea ¹  through us. We plead with you ²  on Christ’s behalf, “Be reconciled to God!”

But our citizenship is in heaven – and we also await a savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ,

If we say we have fellowship with him and yet keep on walking ¹  in the darkness, we are lying and not practicing ²  the truth.

and ¹  whatever we ask we receive from him, because ²  we keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing to him.

But they said to her, “No! ¹  We will ²  return with you to your people.”

“Man, born of woman, ¹  lives but a few days, ²  and they are full of trouble. ³ 

Iron is taken from the ground, ¹  and rock is poured out ²  as copper.

We ¹  wait for the Lord; he is our deliverer ²  and shield. ³ 

May we experience your faithfulness, O Lord, ¹  for ²  we wait for you.

who said, ¹  “Let’s take over ²  the pastures of God!”

Yes, ¹  we are consumed by your anger; we are terrified by your wrath.

For he knows what we are made of; ¹  he realizes ²  we are made of clay. ³ 

Our feet are ¹  standing inside your gates, O Jerusalem.

People ¹  are like a vapor, their days like a shadow that disappears. ² 

Wrath is cruel and anger is overwhelming, ¹  but who can stand before jealousy? ² 

“They cry, ¹  ‘Harvest time has come and gone, and the summer is over, ²  and still we have not been delivered.’

Then I said to the people of Judah, ¹  “Listen and pay attention! Do not be arrogant! For the Lord has spoken.
