One who acts wickedly ¹  pays attention to evil counsel; ²  a liar listens ³  to a malicious tongue. ⁴ 

She opens her mouth ¹  with wisdom, and loving instruction ²  is on her tongue.

May the Lord cut off ¹  all flattering lips, and the tongue that boasts! ² 

The godly speak wise words and promote justice. ¹ 

The one who tells the truth ¹  will endure forever, but the one who lies ²  will last only for a moment. ³ 

Through patience ¹  a ruler can be persuaded, ²  and a soft tongue ³  can break a bone. ⁴ 

So then, one who speaks in a tongue should pray that he may interpret.

How will he severely punish you, you deceptive talker? ¹ 

Death and life are in the power ¹  of the tongue, ²  and those who love its use ³  will eat its fruit.

Immediately ¹  Zechariah’s ²  mouth was opened and his tongue ³  released, ⁴  and he spoke, blessing God.

and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.

Is there any falsehood ¹  on my lips? Can my mouth ²  not discern evil things? ³ 

Your sin inspires ¹  your mouth; you choose the language ²  of the crafty. ³ 

He sucks the poison ¹  of serpents; ²  the fangs ³  of a viper ⁴  kill him.

I said, ¹  “O Lord, rescue me ²  from those who lie with their lips ³  and those who deceive with their tongue. ⁴ 

You will be protected ¹  from malicious gossip, ²  and will not be afraid of the destruction ³  when it comes.

The speech ¹  of the righteous bears the fruit of wisdom, ²  but the one who speaks perversion ³  will be destroyed. ⁴ 

Making a fortune ¹  by a lying tongue is like ²  a vapor driven back and forth; ³  they seek death. ⁴ 

The one who reproves ¹  another ²  will in the end ³  find more favor than the one who flatters ⁴  with the tongue.

And immediately the man’s ¹  ears were opened, his tongue loosened, and he spoke plainly.
