The rock badger ¹  is unclean to you because it chews the cud even though its hoof is not divided.

The cart was coming to the field of Joshua, who was from Beth Shemesh. It paused there near a big stone. Then they cut up the wood of the cart and offered the cows as a burnt offering to the Lord.

So Abram ¹  took all these for him and then cut them in two ²  and placed each half opposite the other, ³  but he did not cut the birds in half.

All the people followed him up, playing flutes and celebrating so loudly they made the ground shake. ¹

Also the pig is ritually impure to you; though it has divided hooves, ¹  it does not chew the cud. You may not eat their meat or even touch their remains.
