Which is easier, ¹  to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven’ or to say, ‘Stand up and walk’?

for this is my blood, the blood ¹  of the covenant, ²  that is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

In the wilderness ¹  John the baptizer ²  began preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. ³ 

When Jesus saw their ¹  faith, he said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” ² 

Which is easier, ¹  to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Stand up and walk’?

But ¹  those who were at the table ²  with him began to say among themselves, “Who is this, who even forgives sins?”

and repentance ¹  for the forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed ²  in his name to all nations, ³  beginning from Jerusalem. ⁴ 

Therefore let it be known to you, brothers, that through this one ¹  forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you,

And now what are you waiting for? ¹  Get up, ²  be baptized, and have your sins washed away, ³  calling on his name.’ ⁴ 

and for this reason he is obligated to make sin offerings for himself as well as for the people.

“For I will be merciful toward their evil deeds, and their sins I will remember no longer.” ¹ 

I am writing to you, ¹  little children, that ²  your sins have been forgiven because of his ³  name.

Thus I told you ¹  that you will die in your sins. For unless you believe that I am he, ²  you will die in your sins.”

But in those sacrifices ¹  there is a reminder of sins year after year.

This happened because of all the sins which Baasha and his son Elah committed and which they made Israel commit. They angered the Lord God of Israel with their worthless idols. ¹ 

He will hand Israel over to their enemies ¹  because of the sins which Jeroboam committed and which he made Israel commit.”

The Israelites followed in the sinful ways of Jeroboam son of Nebat and did not repudiate ¹  them.

How many are my ¹  iniquities and sins? Show me my transgression and my sin. ² 

Your misdeeds have stopped these things from coming. ¹  Your sins have deprived you of my bounty.’ ² 

I will strike you brutally ¹  and destroy you because of your sin.
