Now Mount Sinai was completely covered with smoke because the Lord had descended on it in fire, and its smoke went up like the smoke of a great furnace, ¹  and the whole mountain shook ²  violently.

When they arrived at the threshing floor of Kidon, Uzzah reached out his hand to take hold of ¹  the ark, because the oxen stumbled.

For did not you people of Moab laugh at the people of Israel? Did you think that they were nothing but thieves, ¹  that you shook your head in contempt ²  every time you talked about them? ³ 

‘I am the God of your forefathers, ¹  the God of Abraham, Isaac, ²  and Jacob.’ ³  Moses began to tremble and did not dare to look more closely. ⁴ 

As soon as they see, ¹  they are shocked; ²  they are terrified, they quickly retreat. ³ 

While they were screaming ¹  and throwing off their cloaks ²  and tossing dust ³  in the air,

So Moses extended his hand toward the sea, and the sea returned to its normal state ¹  when the sun began to rise. ²  Now the Egyptians were fleeing ³  before it, but the Lord overthrew ⁴  the Egyptians in the middle of the sea.

O Lord, when you departed ¹  from Seir, when you marched from Edom’s plains, the earth shook, the heavens poured down, the clouds poured down rain. ² 

Then fear overwhelmed ¹  those who were in the camp, those who were in the field, all the army in the garrison, and the raiding bands. They trembled and the ground shook. This fear was caused by God. ² 

When ¹  they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken, ²  and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak ³  the word of God ⁴  courageously. ⁵ 

The mountains trembled ¹  before the Lord, the God of Sinai; ²  before the Lord God of Israel.

When Saul saw the camp of the Philistines, he was absolutely terrified. ¹ 

You made the earth quake; you split it open. ¹  Repair its breaches, for it is ready to fall. ² 

and tossed ¹  Pharaoh and his army into the Red Sea, for his loyal love endures,

When you performed awesome deeds that took us by surprise, ¹  you came down, and the mountains trembled ²  before you.

I looked at the mountains and saw that they were shaking. All the hills were swaying back and forth!

After throwing him into convulsions, the unclean spirit cried out with a loud voice and came out of him.

When they heard these things, they became furious ¹  and ground their teeth ²  at him.

He stretched out ¹  and fell asleep under the shrub. All of a sudden an angelic messenger ²  touched him and said, “Get up and eat.”

The Lord’s angelic messenger came back again, touched him, and said, “Get up and eat, for otherwise you won’t be able to make the journey.” ¹
