The Lord has heard my appeal for mercy; the Lord has accepted ¹  my prayer.

For the one who finds me finds ¹  life and receives ²  favor from the Lord.

The one who has accepted his testimony has confirmed clearly that God is truthful. ¹ 

And if someone sitting down receives a revelation, the person who is speaking should conclude.

The one who has an ear had better hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who conquers, ¹  I will give him some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white ²  stone, ³  and on that stone will be written a new name that no one can understand ⁴  except the one who receives it.’

So be patient, brothers and sisters, ¹  until the Lord’s return. ²  Think of how the farmer waits ³  for the precious fruit of the ground and is patient ⁴  for it until it receives the early and late rains.

The one who finds ¹  a wife finds what is enjoyable, ²  and receives a pleasurable gift ³  from the Lord. ⁴ 

But if a male child ¹  is circumcised ²  on the Sabbath so that the law of Moses is not broken, ³  why are you angry with me because I made a man completely well ⁴  on the Sabbath?

A ¹  third angel ²  followed the first two, ³  declaring ⁴  in a loud voice: “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and takes the mark on his forehead or his hand,

When a scorner is punished, the naive ¹  becomes wise; when a wise person is instructed, ²  he gains knowledge.

And no one assumes this honor ¹  on his own initiative, ²  but only when called to it by God, ³  as in fact Aaron was.

Surely he loves the people; ¹  all your holy ones ²  are in your power. ³  And they sit ⁴  at your feet, each receiving ⁵  your words.

As the crucible is for silver and the furnace is for gold, ¹  so a person ²  is proved ³  by the praise he receives. ⁴ 

The one who reaps receives pay ¹  and gathers fruit for eternal life, so that the one who sows and the one who reaps can rejoice together.

And I testify again to every man who lets himself be circumcised that he is obligated to obey ¹  the whole law.

and in one case tithes are received by mortal men, while in the other by him who is affirmed to be alive.

A fool rejects his father’s discipline, but whoever heeds reproof shows good sense. ¹ 

A king brings stability ¹  to a land ²  by justice, but one who exacts tribute ³  tears it down.

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Absalom would then say, “If only they would make me ¹  a judge in the land! Then everyone who had a judicial complaint ²  could come to me and I would make sure he receives a just settlement.”
