His raging anger lashed out against them, ¹  He sent fury, rage, and trouble as messengers who bring disaster. ² 

How long will this go on, O Lord? ¹  Will you stay angry forever? How long will your rage ²  burn like fire?

When ¹  they heard ²  this they became enraged ³  and began to shout, ⁴  “Great is Artemis ⁵  of the Ephesians!”

Oded, a prophet of the Lord, was there. He went to meet the army as they arrived in Samaria and said to them: “Look, because the Lord God of your ancestors was angry with Judah he handed them over to you. You have killed them so mercilessly that God has taken notice. ¹ 

Asa was so angry at the prophet, he put him in jail. ¹  Asa also oppressed some of the people at that time.

In rage the king arose from the banquet of wine and withdrew to the palace garden. Meanwhile, Haman stood to beg Queen Esther for his life, ¹  for he realized that the king had now determined a catastrophic end for him. ² 

Go ahead and ¹  charge into battle, you horsemen! Drive furiously, you charioteers! Let the soldiers march out into battle, those from Ethiopia and Libya who carry shields, and those from Lydia ²  who are armed with the bow. ³ 

Then Nebuchadnezzar was filled with rage, and his disposition changed ¹  toward Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. He gave orders ²  to heat the furnace seven times hotter than it was normally heated.

They turn to Baal; ¹  they are like an unreliable bow. Their leaders will fall by the sword because their prayers to Baal ²  have made me angry. So people will disdain them in the land of Egypt. ³ 

Is the Lord mad at the rivers? Are you angry with the rivers? Are you enraged at the sea? ¹  Is this why ²  you climb into your horse-drawn chariots, ³  your victorious chariots? ⁴ 

(3:33) ¹  Now when Sanballat heard that we were rebuilding the wall he became angry and was quite upset. He derided the Jews,

A sword will flash in their cities, it will destroy the bars of their city gates, and will devour them in their fortresses.

Live with him for a little while ¹  until your brother’s rage subsides.

Because you rage against me, and the uproar you create has reached my ears; ¹  I will put my hook in your nose, ²  and my bridle between your lips, and I will lead you back the way you came.”

For ¹  wrath kills the foolish person, ²  and anger ³  slays the silly one.

Then he angrily speaks to them and terrifies them in his rage, ¹  saying, ² 

I will hurry off to a place that is safe from the strong wind ¹  and the gale.”

Rage takes hold of me because of the wicked, those who reject your law.

My zeal ¹  consumes ²  me, for my enemies forget your instructions. ³ 

The water would have overpowered us; the current ¹  would have overwhelmed ²  us. ³
