For we know in part, and we prophesy in part,

Then he uttered this oracle: ¹  “The oracle ²  of Balaam son of Beor; the oracle of the man whose eyes are open; ³ 

Love never ends. But if there are prophecies, they will be set aside; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be set aside.

Hypocrites! Isaiah prophesied correctly about you when he said,

Pursue love and be eager for the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy.

“Seventy weeks ¹  have been determined concerning your people and your holy city to put an end to ²  rebellion, to bring sin ³  to completion, ⁴  to atone for iniquity, to bring in perpetual ⁵  righteousness, to seal up ⁶  the prophetic vision, ⁷  and to anoint a most holy place. ⁸ 

Then he uttered this oracle: ¹  “The oracle of Balaam son of Beor; the oracle of the man whose eyes are open;

This fulfilled what was spoken by the prophet: ¹  “I will open my mouth in parables, I will announce what has been hidden from the foundation of the world.” ² 

The words of King Lemuel, ¹  an oracle ²  that his mother taught him:

Then what was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled:

so that what was spoken by Isaiah the prophet would be fulfilled: ¹ 

This fulfilled what was spoken by Isaiah the prophet: ¹ 

This ¹  took place to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet: ² 

Jesus found a young donkey ¹  and sat on it, just as it is written,

This Jesus God raised up, and we are all witnesses of it. ¹ 

But just suppose you continue to say, ‘The message of the Lord is burdensome.’ Here is what the Lord says will happen: ‘I sent word to you that you must not say, “The Lord’s message is burdensome.” But you used the words “The Lord’s message is burdensome” anyway.

Balaam ¹  uttered ²  his oracle, and said, “Rise up, ³  Balak, and hear; Listen to me, son of Zippor:

Now if you say to yourselves, ¹  ‘How can we tell that a message is not from the Lord?’ ²  –

When there is no prophetic vision ¹  the people cast off restraint, ²  but the one who keeps the law, ³  blessed is he! ⁴ 

Then I will summon ¹  as my reliable witnesses Uriah the priest and Zechariah son of Jeberekiah.”
