He sent his anger in full force; ¹  he did not spare them from death; he handed their lives over to destruction. ² 

He covers ¹  the sky with clouds, provides the earth with rain, and causes grass to grow on the hillsides. ² 

Arrange the table, lay out ¹  the carpet, eat and drink! ²  Get up, you officers, smear oil on the shields! ³ 

Going on a little farther, he saw James, the son of Zebedee, and John his brother in their ¹  boat mending nets.

Requesting him to do them a favor against Paul, ¹  they urged Festus ²  to summon him to Jerusalem, planning an ambush ³  to kill him along the way.

They also bestowed many honors, ¹  and when we were preparing to sail, ²  they gave ³  us all the supplies we needed. ⁴ 

Now the one who prepared us for this very purpose ¹  is God, who gave us the Spirit as a down payment. ² 

Concerning this salvation, ¹  the prophets ²  who predicted the grace that would come to you ³  searched and investigated carefully.

Therefore, get your minds ready for action ¹  by being fully sober, and set your hope ²  completely on the grace that will be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed. ³

The Lord says, ¹  “Flee quickly, you who live in Hazor. ²  Take up refuge in remote places. ³  For King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon has laid out plans to attack you. He has formed his strategy on how to defeat you.” ⁴

Going on from there he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee and John his brother, in a boat ¹  with Zebedee their father, mending their nets. Then ²  he called them.

But Martha was distracted ¹  with all the preparations she had to make, ²  so ³  she came up to him and said, “Lord, don’t you care ⁴  that my sister has left me to do all the work ⁵  alone? Tell ⁶  her to help me.”
