During his earthly life ¹  Christ ²  offered ³  both requests and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to the one who was able to save him from death and he was heard because of his devotion.

Husbands, in the same way, treat your wives with consideration as the weaker partners ¹  and show them honor as fellow heirs of the grace of life. In this way nothing will hinder your prayers. ² 

O Lord God, invincible warrior! ¹  How long will you remain angry at your people while they pray to you? ² 

and I always ask ¹  in my prayers, if perhaps now at last I may succeed in visiting you according to the will of God. ² 

Epaphras, who is one of you and a slave ¹  of Christ, ²  greets you. He is always struggling in prayer on your behalf, so that you may stand mature and fully assured ³  in all the will of God.

Now I will be attentive and responsive to the prayers offered in this place. ¹ 

The one who turns away his ear ¹  from hearing the law, even his prayer ²  is an abomination. ³ 

For the culmination of all things is near. So be self-controlled and sober-minded for the sake of prayer. ¹ 

I always pray with joy in my every prayer for all of you

Another ¹  angel holding ²  a golden censer ³  came and was stationed ⁴  at the altar. A ⁵  large amount of incense was given to him to offer up, with the prayers of all the saints, on the golden altar that is before the throne.

She had lived as a widow since then for eighty-four years. ¹  She never left the temple, worshiping with fasting and prayer night and day. ² 

Then ¹  they said to him, “John’s ²  disciples frequently fast ³  and pray, ⁴  and so do the disciples of the Pharisees, ⁵  but yours continue to eat and drink.” ⁶ 

then listen from your heavenly dwelling place to their prayers for help ¹  and vindicate them. ² 

“Now, my God, may you be attentive and responsive to the prayers offered in this place. ¹ 

For the eyes of the Lord are ¹  upon the righteous and his ears are open to their prayer. But the Lord’s face is against those who do evil. ² 

You hear prayers; ¹  all people approach you. ² 

Also, when I cry out desperately ¹  for help, ²  he has shut out my prayer. ³ 

You shrouded yourself with a cloud so that no prayer can get through.

When Solomon finished presenting all these prayers and requests to the Lord, he got up from before the altar of the Lord where he had kneeled and spread out his hands toward the sky. ¹ 

They received divine help in fighting them, and the Hagrites and all their allies were handed over to them. They cried out to God during the battle; he responded to their prayers because they trusted in him. ¹
