Jesus answered, “I tell you the solemn truth, ¹  unless a person is born of water and spirit, ²  he cannot enter the kingdom of God.

How can you believe, if you accept praise ¹  from one another and don’t seek the praise ²  that comes from the only God? ³ 

Yet here he is, speaking publicly, ¹  and they are saying nothing to him. ²  Do the rulers really know that this man ³  is the Christ? ⁴ 

So the Jewish leaders ¹  began to say, ²  “Perhaps he is going to kill himself, because he says, ‘Where I am going you cannot come.’”

The man ¹  replied, “How in the world can I, ²  unless someone guides me?” So he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.

Who can make ¹  a clean thing come from an unclean? ²  No one!

Can his armies be numbered? ¹  On whom does his light ²  not rise?

Can you people who are like iron and bronze break that iron fist from the north? ¹ 

Do two walk together without having met? ¹ 

I do not condone the use of rigged scales, or a bag of deceptive weights. ¹ 

Yet Jesus himself ¹  frequently withdrew ²  to the wilderness ³  and prayed.

If David then calls him ‘Lord,’ how can he be his son?” ¹ 

for it is impossible ¹  for us not to speak about what we have seen and heard.”

Then you will say, “The branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in.”

Therefore do not let what you consider good ¹  be spoken of as evil.

For if the dead are not raised, then not even Christ has been raised.

And if it seems advisable that I should go also, they will go with me.

Again he measured 1,750 feet and it was a river I could not cross, for the water had risen; it was deep enough to swim in, a river that could not be crossed.

Then Jesus ¹  said to them again, ²  “I am going away, and you will look for me ³  but will die in your sin. ⁴  Where I am going you cannot come.”

I say this to your shame! Is there no one among you wise enough to settle disputes between fellow Christians? ¹
