My words come from the uprightness of my heart, ¹  and my lips will utter knowledge sincerely. ² 

Scatter abroad ¹  the abundance ²  of your anger. Look at every proud man ³  and bring him low;

For you say, “We have made a treaty with death, with Sheol ¹  we have made an agreement. ²  When the overwhelming judgment sweeps by ³  it will not reach us. For we have made a lie our refuge, we have hidden ourselves in a deceitful word.” ⁴ 

“Who is this that rises like the Nile, like its streams ¹  turbulent at flood stage?

Through these things ¹  the world existing at that time was destroyed when it was deluged with water.

Tell the ones who coat it with whitewash that it will fall. When there is a deluge of rain, hailstones ¹  will fall and a violent wind will break out. ² 

“‘Therefore this is what the sovereign Lord says: In my rage I will make a violent wind break out. In my anger there will be a deluge of rain and hailstones in destructive fury.

I will judge him with plague and bloodshed. I will rain down on him, his troops and the many peoples who are with him a torrential downpour, hailstones, fire, and brimstone.

His sons ¹  will wage war, mustering a large army which will advance like an overflowing river and carrying the battle all the way to the enemy’s ²  fortress. ³ 

O Israel, hope in the Lord, for the Lord exhibits loyal love, ¹  and is more than willing to deliver. ² 

When there were no deep oceans ¹  I was born, ²  when there were no springs overflowing ³  with water;

Armies ¹  will be suddenly ²  swept away in defeat ³  before him; both they and a covenant leader ⁴  will be destroyed. ⁵ 

The threshing floors are full of grain; the vats overflow with fresh wine and olive oil.

so ¹  he thought to himself, ²  ‘What should I do, for I have nowhere to store my crops?’ ³ 

Joseph stored up a vast amount of grain, like the sand of the sea, ¹  until he stopped measuring it because it was impossible to measure.

Of Naphtali he said: O Naphtali, overflowing with favor, and full of the Lord’s blessing, possess the west and south.

as water wears away stones, and torrents ¹  wash away the soil, ²  so you destroy man’s hope. ³ 

If the river rages, ¹  it is not disturbed, it is secure, ²  though the Jordan should surge up to its mouth.

You prepare a feast before me ¹  in plain sight of my enemies. You refresh ²  my head with oil; my cup is completely full. ³ 

For ¹  you will nurse from her satisfying breasts and be nourished; ²  you will feed with joy from her milk-filled breasts. ³
