When they hear of my exploits, they submit to me. ¹  Foreigners are powerless ²  before me;

(May those who hate the Lord ¹  cower in fear ²  before him! May they be permanently humiliated!) ³ 

Obey the king’s command, ¹  because you took ²  an oath before God ³  to be loyal to him. ⁴ 

For whoever does the will of God is ¹  my brother and sister and mother.”

But if someone loves God, he ¹  is known by God. ² 

You were running well; who prevented you from obeying ¹  the truth?

Carry one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

So also faith, if it does not have works, is dead being by itself.

He wholeheartedly and successfully reinstituted service in God’s temple and obedience to the law, in order to follow his God. ¹ 

The eye ¹  that mocks at a father and despises obeying ²  a mother – the ravens of the valley will peck it out and the young vultures will eat it. ³ 

But now we have been released from the law, because we have died ¹  to what controlled us, so that we may serve in the new life of the Spirit and not under the old written code. ² 

For he will order his angels ¹  to protect you in all you do. ² 

The rules you set down ¹  are completely reliable. ²  Holiness ³  aptly adorns your house, O Lord, forever. ⁴

Then ¹  they returned and prepared aromatic spices ²  and perfumes. ³  On the Sabbath they rested according to the commandment. ⁴ 

but in every nation ¹  the person who fears him ²  and does what is right ³  is welcomed before him.

Then, after they had fasted ¹  and ²  prayed and placed their hands ³  on them, they sent them off.

As a result God exalted him and gave him the name that is above every name,

Therefore, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, ¹  continue to live your lives ²  in him,
